‘Attention Homo Sapiens! This is Rescue Centre
for Humans (RCH) at Moon’, floated the announcement in universe.
Dwellers at human establishments
on different planets tuned their brain ware to the frequency of Moon.
‘Hello, I am humanoid Prof
Dr Bhaskar Rao’, said he extending his hand for handshake in every listener’s
mind courtesy 3D mind to mind telecast.
‘The trees in the forest
across the Earth started showing predatory, developments at the beginning of 51st
century’.
‘It was out of survival
instincts. They started giving out 'Pillage' vines which entwined to cripple, kill
whosoever they felt came in its way of growth'.
'By mid 70th century the
threat grew to the extent that Homo Sapiens were declared endangered’.
‘We at RCH have been researching
on controlling the predatory behaviour of trees for past 250 years. The
hostility is remarkably reduced when they are exposed to tranquil, soothing
music. Exposing them from saplings stage has shown changes in the DNA structure
that aid in suppressing the hostile behaviour”.
A round of applause
reverberated across the universe.

In the current scenario, Homo Sapiens have the upper hand over other species. However unmindful and careless and opressive ways of humans soon will lead to other species developing hostile and predatory characteristics. It will be their fight for survival. If this happens, we, Homo Sapiens will be endangered! Time now to wake and make amends. What do you say?

DeleteThis is brilliant take Anagha, but what if this happens for real?
ReplyDeleteScary prospect, but not completely impossible. Great take on the issue, Anagha

ReplyDeleteVery clever take. Almost makes one believe it could happen.
ReplyDeleteUnusual take and excellently done. I fear the trees would take us out all too easily if they wanted to!
ReplyDeleteOkay. So no more playing LedZeppelin around the trees. Got it. A fun and imaginative story!
ReplyDeletesuperb write up and scary too. your stories are always so innovative and had an interesting take. enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteThis could happen considering how things are going. Interesting tale, Anagha.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is great! Music helps trees to become friendly and inviting rather than hostile!
ReplyDelete"music stills the savage beast" - works for trees also. Good story
ReplyDeleteScary scenario Anagha when we are reduced to humanoids from humans. And do you think we as a species will live to see the 51st century? The indiscriminate pillaging of nature leads me to believe the end is really nigh
ReplyDeleteWhat a great premise! Predatory trees! I have had that nightmare!!!
