Reach Out

Her heartbeats picked up. The sweat gathered on her forehead. Her eyes were fixated on the locked doors. She cringed.

Not even a bird in sight. The leaves seemed to have stopped rustling as if they were lifeless.

She gulped the lump of trepidation. Though sunny and well lit, premises wore a deserted look. Her racing heartbeats, which were now going by the speed of express train, were her only companion!

Dddd...Don’t drag me... Who are you?... I want to go home. PPPPPPlease..... let me go. I beg you. Or else,..... I will scream. Why cant I hear my voice?... Don’t lock me up. Helpppppppp!”, wailed Komal, her voice trembling.

“Komal, relax. Look around. Recollect that you are undergoing controlled exposure to closed places. You wish to win over claustrophobia, isn’t it?”, assuaged Dr Mahip, turning on the lights in the room and switching off the display.
